Marriage / Civil Union License (Application)
In order to apply at the South Harrison Registrar’s Office:
One member of the applying couple must reside in South Harrison Township.
If both members of the applying couple reside in another state or country, but intend to have their ceremony performed at a location within South Harrison Township, they must apply with the South Harrison Registrar’s Office.
Note: if a couple intends to perform their ceremony Out-of-State, or in another Country, they must contact that state or country for information – they should not contact the South Harrison Township Registrar.
To begin the application process
The couple must contact the South Harrison Registrar’s Office to schedule an appointment.
At the scheduled appointment, couples must bring the following:
A witness, with a valid government-issued photo ID or passport, who is over the age of 18, and can attest to the couple’s information
Individual valid government-issued photo ID or valid passport of applying couple
Proof of South Harrison Township residency which validates the current address of applicant within the past three months (i.e. utility bill, bank statement, employment pay-stub)
Phone Number of State Recognized Officiate to perform the ceremony
$28.00 cash or check for application fee

PER STATE LAW, APPLICANTS MUST WAIT 72 HOURS AFTER FILING THEIR APPLICATION BEFORE PICKING UP THEIR MARRIAGE/CIVIL UNION LICENSE.

Certified Copy – Marriage, Birth or Death Certificate
Issued AFTER a marriage or civil union ceremony / birth (at-home birth only) / Death which occurred in South Harrison Township.
To obtain a New Jersey State Certificate of a birth, death, marriage, civil union, or domestic partnership, which occurred in the Township of South Harrison, you must complete an official Vital Statistics Request Form and submit same to the South Harrison Township Registrar’s Office by either:
Direct mail - with your payment, copy of proper identification, and a self-addressed stamped return envelope
or
Directly in person** - at the Registrar’s Office (Clerk’s Office), 664 Harrisonville Road, Mullica Hill, NJ 08062 during regular business hours
In Order to Obtain a Certified Copy:
Complete the Certified Copy Request Form (identify the record)

Provide Acceptable Identification
A current, valid photo driver's license or photo non-driver's license
OR
A current, valid driver’s license without photo and one alternate form of ID
OR
Two alternate forms of ID, one of which must have current address.
Alternate forms of ID are:
Vehicle registration
Vehicle insurance card
Voter registration
US/Foreign Passport
Immigrant Visa
Permanent Resident Card (Green card)
Federal/State ID
County ID
School ID
Bank Statement (within previous 90 days)
Utility bill (within the previous 90 days)
W-2 for current/previous tax year
Please do not mail in original ID documents. Only copies are required. If you want to have your order mailed to a different address than what is listed on your identification, your application must include a notarized letter that authorizes the order to be mailed to a different address.
Payment of Fees – The cost for obtaining a certified copy is $3 per certificate. Payment is by cash or check only (checks payable to: South Harrison Township)
Proof of Relationship
To get a certified copy you must provide proof of your relationship to the person listed on the vital record and the proof must establish you are one of the following:
The subject of the record
The subject’s parent, legal guardian or legal representative
The subject’s spouse/civil union or domestic partner; child, grandchild or sibling, if of legal age
A state or federal agency for official purposes
Pursuant to court order
