Emergency Management

OEM Coordinator

Tomas Luchay

The South Harrison Township Office of Emergency Management (OEM) exists to serve the emergency needs of the community whether it be a natural disaster, major storm system, long-term power outages, chemical or hazardous material incident or terrorist threat. OEM is responsible for an emergency management plan that prepares for, responds to, and recovers from any natural or manmade event that may occur in South Harrison Township.

New Jersey Special Needs Registry for Disasters

New Jersey residents with disabilities or access and functional needs and their families, friends, caregivers, and associates can provide information to emergency response agencies so emergency responders can better plan to serve them in a disaster or other emergency. Township residents with a special need or disability are asked to register by clicking the following link:

Gloucester County Hazard Mitigation Plan

On October 30, 2000, President Clinton signed the Disaster Mitigation Act of 2000, also known as “DMA 2000”. DMA 2000 established a requirement that local and state governments must develop and adopt hazard mitigation plans (HMPs) to maintain eligibility for federal hazard mitigation grants and programs.

The Mitigation Plan for Four New Jersey Counties (NJ4 HMP) responds to this requirement for the participating jurisdictions within Camden, Gloucester, Salem, and Cumberland Counties in southwestern New Jersey.
